Volunteers sought for new theater in NFM
For a good community theater to run, it needs more than just actors. It needs people behind the scenes, from ticket takers to backstage people and talent handlers, to help make the performers shine.
Players Circle Theatre, the new theater located at the Shell Factory, is looking for volunteers to assist in a variety of roles throughout its inaugural season.
Rehearsals are going on now for its first production, “Ho! Ho! Ho! The Christmas Show” a musical comedy revue, which runs from Dec. 3 to 22.
From working on special projects to providing support for the administrative staff, volunteers play a vital role in helping to bring art to the Players Circle Theatre stage.
Volunteer opportunities include:
VIP Players Act as an influencer and organizer. Volunteers can meet the actors, talk with directors and work on special projects. This level of volunteer also assists in organizing and staffing fundraising projects and help develop new theatre activities and events.
Front of House Players Who act as an usher assisting patrons with seating, programs and general customer service.
Backstage Players Assists in sets, lights, costumes, running crew and stage management.
Spotlight After show talks and gatherings.
Fruit & cookie brigade Provide meals, cookies, snacks and fruit to actors and crew during tech week, photo calls, education events and receptions.
Players Circle housing Help secure housing for out of town artists.
Office volunteers Provide support to the administrative staff and patron services office for mailings and large projects.
