Zonta Club of Cape Coral meeting to feature presentation about human trafficking

1 min read

The public is invited to join the Zonta Club of Cape Coral on Oct. 22, from 5:30-7 p.m., at the Cape Coral Lee County Public Library, located at 921 S.W. 39th Terrace, to hear Blaine Elmer speak about human trafficking. This is a free event.

This area is a “hotspot” for human trafficking, ranked third highest in 2018 in the country. Some of the reasons are proximity to interstate, located near an international airport, faming and service industry, and a large transient and immigrant population.

Elmer will share some of his experience and expertise as a former intelligence officer with the government and his work on human trafficking in U..S, Middle East and South America along with some of the history and awareness of human trafficking, how and what the traffickers do, as their modes of operation are constantly changing.

Space is limited to 25 people, so registration through the email address below will hold you a seat. The meetings are open to members of any other clubs who may benefit from this speaker.
