Man sentenced to life in prison for crimes against child
An Immokalee man has been sentenced to life in prison after being found guilty of molesting a Cape Coral child over a two-year period.
Manuel Sanchez, 59, was found guilty as charged with lewd or lascivious molestation and lewd or lascivious conduct following the one-day trial in Lee County on Thursday. He was sentenced immediately after the verdict was returned. He was sentenced to life in prison on count one and 15 years on count two.
Sanchez was arrested last July after the child victim told someone about the crime. The Cape Coral Police Department investigated the allegations and subsequently arrested Sanchez.
The child testified at trial against her abuser.
Assistant State Attorney Natalie Savino prosecuted the case.
