Cape man sentenced to 30 years in prison for stabbing roommate to death
A Cape Coral man was sentenced to 30 years in prison Wednesday after he pleaded no contest to second degree murder.
Cullen Roe, 25, also was sentenced to 10 years of probation following the prison term.
Roe stabbed his 25-year-old roommate, Kody Scott Detling, to death at their Van Loon Commons Circle apartment in Cape Coral last August and then went to breakfast.
Roe was arrested without incident shortly thereafter by Cape Coral police after he called 911 and admitted to the stabbing.
Assistant State Attorney Lanna Belohlavek of the State Attorney’s office Homicide Unit handled the case.
