1 min read

On Wednesday, May 23, Ida S. Baker High School’s social inclusion club, Baker Buddies Best Buddies Chapter, held its annual fundraiser at Miceli’s Waterfront Restaurant on Matlacha.

Miceli’s graciously donated 25 percent of its proceeds over a 3-hour period of time.

With the restaurant’s generous donation and from funds collected by the Silent Auction and 50/50 raffle, the club will continue to be able to set up events and gatherings to help build one-to-one friendships for individuals with intellectual disabilities with typical developing peers.

Strange Arrangement The Brothers Van Kirk helped rock Miceli’s for a good cause. The brothers are well known for their community involvement and unique form of original entertainment, often inviting guest on stage to participate in the performance and at the Baker Buddies 2018 performance, that is just what happened. The Brothers were able to get the students up and involved in performing, playing instruments and singing to the crowd.

The Brothers performed some of their crowd favorites, “Chicken and Shrimp,” “Front Porch,” “Sweet Tea,” “All My Beats” and “Money,” just to name a few.
