Reward increased for information that helps find Diana Alvares
The reward for information in leading to the whereabouts of a missing 9-year-old has been increased.
Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigations has increased the reward for information concerning Diana Alvares to $6,000. $1,000 is being provided by Crime Stoppers, with the additional $5,000 pledged by the FBI.
Diana was last seen at her Unique Circle residence in San Carlos Park at 2 a.m. on Sunday. She was discovered missing early Sunday morning and, since that time, a massive investigation trying to find the young girl has been under way.
More than 200 federal and local law enforcement officers have joined the search, including foot patrols, ATV’s, Aviation, K-9, and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team.
“Members of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the FBI, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Florida Fish and Wildlife, the Airport Port Authority, Department of Homeland Security, as well as members of the Collier and Charlotte County Sheriff’s Offices have been working around the clock, on land and from the air, trying to find Diana, to no avail,” officials said.
Diana, who is Hispanic, is 4’4″, 95 pounds, with dark hair and brown eyes. She has two scars on one of her legs. She was last seen wearing an unknown color shirt, blue bottoms, unknown shoes, and may be carrying a green blanket with flower print.
