Law offices back open after small fire

1 min read

The main office of the Law Offices of Goldstein, Buckley, Cechman, Rice and Purtz was back open Thursday after a small fire Wednesday night at the downtown Fort Myers location.

The fire happened when a power line fell on the roof of the building at Broadway and Main streets at approximately 6:30 p.m.

“There were people in our offices when the power line fell, no one was injured but there was some smoke and water damage,” said Jeff Rice, the managing attorney of the firm in a prepared statement. “We want to assure all our clients that no files or client records were damaged and all have remained safe. I also want to thank the Fort Myers Fire Department for their fast and efficient response to this emergency.”

The offices were back in full operation at noon.

The firm has five other offices throughout Southwest Florida.
