Cape Coral may get funds for traffic signal timing study

1 min read

A light agenda awaits City Council members for Monday’s meeting in City Hall.

Council will discuss a resolution authorizing an agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation to conduct traffic signal timing studies at various intersections within the city. Cost of the study is estimated at $250,000, paid for by FDOT funds.

Council also will discuss a resolution permitting an outdoor display of merchandise in front of a grocery store to be located in Coralwood Mall. Outdoor displays currently are prohibited by the city’s Land Use regulations, hence the request for an exception.

Appointments to fill vacancies or alternate positions on three boards and committees will be made by council. One vacancy on the South Cape Redevelopment Advisory Board has three applicants. Ten applicants have applied for five vacancies on the Planning & Zoning Commission while two people have applied to fill three vacancies on the Affordable Housing Committee.

The meeting starts at 4:30 p.m. on Monday in Council Chambers.

Cape Coral City Hall is at 1015 Cultural Park Blvd.
