TALC town hall forum
The Teachers Association of Lee County is holding a series of town hall style forums for parents, students, teachers and education professionals to have the opportunity to meet, hear from and speak with the members of the Lee County school board. The second of these forums will be 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 15, and will feature District 5 representative Pamela LaRiviere. The format will be informal and provide the opportunity for attendees to ask questions. It will take place at the Riverdale Public Library, 2421 Buckingham Road, Fort Myers.
“Following up on the success of our first two forums with Mary Fischer and Cathleen Morgan, we look forward to this opportunity to hear from and speak with Mrs. LaRiviere. These forums are particularly important as we head into a new school year and with the impending board expansion from 5 to 7 members. It is every parent, community member and public education employee’s responsibility to learn about their school board members and the direction they envision for our district and the board. This is crucial to the education of our students,” said Mark Castellano, president of the Teachers Association of Lee County, in a prepared statement.
The Supervisor of Elections Office will also be there to offer the opportunity for voter registration.
TALC will invite each of the board members to participate in a similar Town Hall style forum and looks forward to their response and the opportunity for an open and frank conversation with their constituents in Lee County.
The Teachers Association of Lee County is the local affiliate of the Florida Education Association, representing teachers and other instructional employees of the School District of Lee County.
