Launch party planned for jd daniels’ new mystery ‘Quick Walk to Murder’
Award-winning author jd daniels recently announced the release of “Quick Walk to Murder,” the second Jessie Murphy mystery set in Matlacha and Pine Island.
Daniels’ fiction and poetry has appeared in various literary publications. She received a prize for poetry from Emerson College / Cambridge University in England, was vetted into the Iowa Arts Council and Poets & Writers Directories and is Letters Chair for PEN Women of Southwest Florida.
Her poetry has been choreographed to dance and has inspired painters and clay artists at ArtPoems, a Southwest Florida poet/artist collaboration.
She was awarded her doctoral degree for her collection of poems, “Currents That Puncture” from Drake University and is a founding partner and an editor of Prairie Wolf Press Review. She has been teaching (and continues to teach) writing and literature at the college level since 1988.
After her June 2013 reading at Prairie Lights Book-store in Iowa City, Iowa, “Say Yes,” her book of poetry topped the Cedar Rapids Gazette’s best-seller list.
Matlacha and Pine Island have been inspiring her writing for over 10 years. The cover artist is renowned St. James City artist Peg Cullen.
Join jd daniels to celebrate the publication at a launch party at Bert’s Pine Bay Gallery, Friday, Jan. 8, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
On Thursday, Jan. 21, she will read from the “Quick Walk to Murder” at a special mystery night event with a sweet twist at CW Fudge Factory in Matlacha from 6:30-8 p.m.
