Cape Applebee’s to offer fee meals for veterans, current military personnel Wednesday
For the eighth consecutive year, Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar will honor current and former United States military personnel by providing them with free meals at all of the nearly 2,000 Applebee’s restaurants in the United States on Veterans Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11.
This Veterans Day, Applebee’s expects to serve approximately 1 million free meals to veterans and active-duty military personnel. Since 2007, Applebee’s has served approximately 8.5 million veterans and active-duty military personnel. In addition, Applebee’s supports the Thank You Movement Website (www.thankyoumovement.com), which offers everyone the opportunity to send “Thank You” messages to veterans and military personnel.
“What started as our simple way of saying ‘thanks’ has become a standard for many in the restaurant industry,” said Applebee’s interim president Julia Stewart. “We’re pleased to have led the way, and we’re excited to show our gratitude again this year by serving free meals to our military heroes on Veterans Day.”
In order to receive a free meal on Wednesday, Nov. 11, guests just need to provide proof of military service, which includes: U.S. Uniform Services Identification Card, U.S. Uniform Services Retired Identification Card, Current Leave and Earnings Statement, Veterans Organization Card, photograph in uniform or wearing uniform, DD214, Citation or Commendation.
The offer is available at Applebee’s locations owned and operated by Doherty Enterprises in New Jersey, Long Island, Florida and Georgia, including the ones in Cape Coral and Fort Myers.
