Sun Splash to host back to school events and begin weekend only schedule
With Lee County Public School District’s new school year beginning on Aug. 24, Sun Splash Family Waterpark is winding down its summer operating schedule.
The park is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Aug. 23 then will be open weekends only until the season ends on Sept. 20.
Sun Splash will host its final After Hours Event of the season Friday, Aug. 21, from 6-10 p.m. featuring a Back to School Bash. Radio station B103.9 will be onsite hosting a live radio remote with lots of giveaways and Plato’s Closet will be holding a fashion show.
In addition, anyone who brings a school supply to donate at the door (i.e. notebook, pack of pencils, box of crayons, etc.) will receive a coupon for a free large fountain drink!
After Hours Nights showcase special evening hours and discounted event prices of $8 for Cape Coral residents, $10 for non-residents, and $5 for same day park guests (excluding sales tax and parking fees). Sun Splash season pass holders are admitted for free. Parking is not included.
Back to school fun will continue at Sun Splash on Saturday, Aug. 22, with the park open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Representatives from the Cape Coral Fire Department and other local organizations will be at the park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to discuss bicycle safety, do child fingerprinting and highlight back to school essentials with plenty of giveaways expected at the various booths. Regular daily admission prices apply.
Guests who attend Friday’s After Hours event and/or Saturday’s back to school activities can register for a chance to win a $100 gift card to Plato’s Closet.
“We’ve had a splash-tastic summer at Sun Splash and encourage everyone to visit the park one more time before school starts,” said Sandra Greiner, Waterpark Manager. “We’re also looking forward to hosting our last evening event of the season and hope everyone will come out and enjoy the special evening hours on Friday.”
