Cape Coral Parks & Rec seeks volunteers

1 min read

Each summer, the Cape Coral Parks & Recreation Department helps children and adults with disabilities and special needs in the community; however, a lot of what is done would not be possible without the dedicated help of individuals who donate their time and talents to help others.

The Parks & Recreation Department is currently recruiting additional individuals for volunteer and contractual employment positions who are caring, dependable and want to make a difference.

Special needs volunteers and contract counselors assist in numerous ways. They help care for children in Cape Coral Parks and Recreation summer day camps and work with adults with disabilities in other programs. Somealso help with administrative tasks like data entry, mailings and customer satisfaction surveys.

During the summer months, many of Cape Coral Parks & Recreation special needs volunteers and counselors are high school or college students. In fact, there are some amazing opportunities for young or experienced people to become directly involved with children with special needs through a variety of summer camp programs.
