U.S. Congressional Candidate Forum set for Saturday
A free and open to the public candidate forum for U.S. Congressional District 19 will be held at First Baptist Church, 4117 Coronado Parkway, Cape Coral, on Saturday
Doors will open at 1:15 p.m. with the forum to start at 2 p.m.
The event will be co-moderated by Drew Steele, Host of SWFL 92.5 Fox FM Daybreak Talk Show, 5-9 a.m. Daily Pastor Rick Stevens, Diplomat Wesleyan Church
All candidates who officially qualified for the special election on Feb. 26 were invited: Lizbeth Benacquisto, Curt Clawson, Michael Dreikorn, April Freeman, Paige Kreegal and Ray Netherwood.
On Friday, organizers said all candidates were expected to attend.
Candidates will be encouraged to state a yes or no position on questions devised from the moderators and the audience.
The forum is sponsored by the SWFL Citizens Alliance.
“These candidates are applying for a job with YOU so this forum is designed to facilitate your ‘interview’ with them. Media, polls and debates often feature only a few of the candidate who qualify for popular races. The sponsors of this forum want you to have the opportunity to meet ALL of the eligible candidates so you can make your voting decision based on principles, character and positions instead of the biased influence of special interests or TV ads!” organizers said.
“We encourage you to seek the candidate who best demonstrates courage, honesty and the earnest intent to represent District 19, and to protect and advance individual liberty and economic freedom.
