Mahan named 2013 Broker of the Year
A few short weeks ago, Robert Mahan received the distinguished Broker of the Year award for 2013 from the Cape Coral Association of Realtors at their annual meeting and awards banquet.
A few short weeks from now, Mahan will celebrate the grand opening of a new concept in the real estate industry with his Education & Training Center expansion. Mahan’s Century 21 Selling Paradise firm, which he established in 2002, is located at 3409 Del Prado Blvd. The training center, comprising 1,850 square feet of space, is located in the three-story building next door at 3501 Del Prado Blvd.
Century 21 Selling Paradise has grown to more than 75 agents in just over a decade and the new training center is staffed by three full-time and two part-time instructors. It’s instructional classes are open to all Lee County agents free of charge.
The Broker of the Year award was given to Mahan on the basis of his involvement with the association as a board member, bringing 42 new agents to the board, and the training center concept, which is the only one of its kind in Lee County.
“We help new agents get up and operating as well as help experienced agents take their business to the next level,” said Mahan. “It is unique in that there is very little training available for new or experienced agents. We have created a niche for a tremendous amount of training. We teach computer listings, social networking, dealing with contractors, sales, and how to set up a business because each agent is really their own business.”
Mahan, 63, earned his first real estate license in 1978 in Oregon. He operated in Oregon and California before moving to Cape Coral 15 years ago where he has worked as a broker, speaker, trainer and coach.
He dedicated his time and energy to the Cape Coral Association of Realtors by serving on the ethics committee and the past four years on the board of directors. In that time he has conducted numerous training seminars across the county. He received his first Broker of the Year award from association president Michelle Deal in December.
“I am honored to receive the Broker of the Year award,” said Mahan. “I’m thrilled to be a part of the Cape Coral Association of Realtors and will continue to work with them as they serve three members of the real estate community and the customers they service.”
