Holiday Festival still seeking vendors
There is still time for vendors to sign up for booth space at the annual Holiday Festival of Lights, which is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 7, along Cape Coral Parkway.
The festival, title sponsored this year by CenturyLink, centers around the Big John’s Center, where the city Christmas tree will be lighted at a ceremony that will start about 5:45 p.m. Mariner and Cape Coral High bands will perform at the start of the ceremony that climaxes with the arrival of Santa Claus and the tree lighting.
According to Chamber of Commerce special events coordinator Amanda Schurko-Brunson, 92 vendors already have signed up for booth space. A 10×10 booth space for chamber members is $199 and $250 for nonmembers and the chamber offers tent packages for which tents are provided for the vendor. Visit the Holiday Festival of Lights website for vendor guidelines and application forms.
“We have plenty of open spaces left,” said Brunson. “We will take vendors all the way up until the day before the festival.”
The festival, which has been a city tradition for more than 20 years, starts at 4 p.m. and runs until 10 p.m.
Visitors can roam the streets shopping at existing businesses and street vendors. Food and beverages are available along with the tiny tots train and snow drift for kids, and a live show in addition to the high school bands, remarks from dignitaries, Santa Claus and the lighting of the Christmas Tree.
