Annual Valentine’s Day Vow Renewal Ceremony set
The Friends of Lovers Key, Inc. has scheduled its fourth annual Valentine’s Day Vow Renewal Ceremony, “Love at Lovers Key,” at Lovers Key State Park.
The special Valentine’s Day event will take place Feb. 14, from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Couples are invited to come to the park for a special wedding Vow Renewal Ceremony at the Gazebo on the beach. Enjoy a complimentary glass of wine and hors d’oeuvres, socializing, and a romantic walk on the beach before the ceremony begins on the beach.
A wonderful reception will follow with a Champagne Toast, light fare, desserts, dancing, and door prizes to top off your romantic Valentine’s Day Celebration.
Pre-registration is required by Feb. 4, for couples to be entered into the Grand Prize Drawing for a Valentines Night stay and a $25 dining certificate donated by the nearby Lovers Key Resort/Hotel.
The drawing will be held on Feb. 5, so that the winning couple can make plans to spend the night.
The Valentine’s Day event is $60 per couple, a non-refundable donation.
This event has been a sell-out in the past. All pre-paid registrations must be received by park closing time on Feb. 4.

Lovers Key is at 8700 Estero Blvd., Fort Myers Beach, 10.5 miles west of I-75 on exit 116. The park boundaries are Big Carlos Pass and New Pass.
Lovers Key is among the most visited of Florida’s State parks, hosting hundreds of thousands of visitors annually. It has been featured on the Travel Channel’s “Top Ten Florida Beaches.” The park boasts 1,600 acres of pristine, natural habitat, and a beautiful two mile long beach.
FOLKS is a non-profit group established to protect, preserve and support the park. It is a citizen support organization given special status by Florida law that makes it possible for members to support their favorite state park through fund-raising and volunteering.
They step in to help the park with purchases that might not be feasible within the regular park budget. FOLKS members also provide crucial support for special events at the park during the course of the year.
Currently FOLKS is developing plans, and undertaking fund raising events to raise funds for construction of a Visitor Center at the park.
This facility would allow for increased coastal resource education and environmental awareness programs.
