Westbound Cape Coral bridge closure
Beginning Wednesday, Sept. 19 through Thursday, Sept. 20, during the nighttime/overnight hours of 9 p.m. – 6 a.m., westbound lanes of the Cape Coral bridge will be closed to traffic at the toll plaza (weather permitting). Crews will be setting up barrier walls for a new traffic pattern at the Cape Coral Toll Plaza. Motorists should use the Midpoint Bridge as an alternate route.
Access to the Landings, Caloosa Yacht and Racquet Club and Magnolia Point will be maintained.
At 6 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, motorists can expect six westbound lanes to be open for their use. This final configuration will include lane 1 (adjacent to the administration building) as a dedicated LeeWay/SunPass lane, lanes 2, 3 and 4 as manned booths and lanes 5 and 6 as dedicated “open road” LeeWay/SunPass lanes. Traffic coming from the College Parkway Overpass will have the option to stay in the two left lanes for LeeWay/SunPass customers only, or they can use the lanes to the right which will include the three manned booths for cash payments. Traffic coming from the McGregor Boulevard on-ramp will continue to have the option of using lane 1 (LeeWay/SunPass customers only) or any of the 3 manned booths in lanes 2, 3 and 4.

Motorists are advised to use caution driving through the toll plaza, and to follow work zone signage and message boards.
