Resort at MarinaVillage sold
Freeman & Hasselwander Resort Properties LLC have purchased The Resort at MarinaVillage and the surrounding Tarpon Point development.
The Resort at MarinaVillage General Manager Kyle Johnson said the Arkansas based company owns many other resort properties as well.
Freeman & Hasselwander Resort Properties closed the sale last Friday.
Johnson said the lender took possession of the property in the spring via foreclosure and they have actively been looking to sell the property over the last couple of months. He said the bank decided it did not want to operate the luxury developments and they put it up for sale.
“I think it is going to be a great partnership, and I am happy to have them here,” he said about Freeman & Hasselwander Resort Properties. “We are really happy that they are on board.”
Johnson said they talked about the future for the resort, which looks bright. He said Freeman & Hasselwander know hospitality and customer service, which will help through the transition.
Meetings have been planned for the next couple of weeks to discuss Freeman & Hasselwander’s vision for what they would like to do.
Some of the opportunities the new owners will provide include additional staff, other stores and restaurants, along with potential growth at Tarpon Point.
Johnson said a marina expansion also was approved at Tarpon Point.
He said with the purchase made, it looks like things are making that turn that many have all been waiting for.
