Cape police looking for bank robber

Cape Coral police are searching for a man who robbed a bank on Del Prado Boulevard this morning.

At 9:09 a.m., the man entered the Bank of America at 1701 Del Prado Blvd. S. armed with a large silver handgun. He robbed a teller then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. He was seen running east behind the bank.

The man is black, in his early 30s, 5 feet 10 inches tall and 170 pounds. At the time of the bank robbery, he was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.

Cape officers are checking the neighborhoods on foot with K9s and the Aviation Unit. If anyone sees the alleged robber, they are asked to call 911.
