Cape man charged with threatening to bomb FMPD

A Cape Coral man reportedly threatened to bomb a local police department via an online social networking site.
Ryan Thomas Komosinski, 22, of 3931 S.E. 20th Ave., was arrested and charged Saturday with one count of threat to bomb, threaten to discharge destructive device. As of Monday, he had posted bail from the county jail.
At 5 p.m. Saturday, the Fort Myers Police Department was informed of a bomb threat to the agency. A citizen, who wished to remain anonymous, told officers that someone posted on Facebook that he would bomb the FMPD.
During a search of the website, officers reportedly located a comment posted by Komosinski. It stated, “I’m bombing the FMPD, (expletive) them.”
There were also several derogatory comments posted by Komosinski about Lee County Sheriff Mike Scott, according to Fort Myers police officials.
Komosinski, who has been a participant in the Occupy Fort Myers camp, was found Saturday in downtown Fort Myers at First Street and Hendry Street.
He allegedly confessed to making the threat and was taken into custody.
Komosinski has a court appearance scheduled for Dec. 19.
