Cape Coral city manager to offer strategy for growth

Cape Coral City Manager Gary King will discuss the city’s plans to encourage and support business growth and development at the Real Estate Investment Society Dec. 13 luncheon meeting.

Gary King will provide updates on economic development programs, the “VIZ” Veterans Investment Zone and downtown redevelopment in the CRA.

Other topics on the agenda include the widening of Pine Island and Burnt Store Roads, improving major roadways, and expanding utility services to support development in Northern Cape Coral.

King also is expected to share insight on the economic potential of Pine Island Road and the marketing ideas, development incentives, and changes to development standards to achieve that potential.

After his presentation, King will respond to specific questions from the attending real estate development and investment professionals.

King has served as the Cape’s city manager since July 2010. He is a commercial mortgage broker and has served as president of a mortgage brokerage business and a senior vice president of State Street Corporation, based in Boston. King has a BS and MBA in Management.

The meeting is sponsored by Krise Commercial Group, and will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 13, in the Osprey Room at Pelican Preserve’s Clubhouse, on Treeline Avenue at Colonial Boulevard, one mile east of I-75 exit 136 in Fort Myers.
