Vets invited to take part in Skyline’s Veterans Day program

1 min read

A Skyline Elementary School tradition will be held again this year to honor veterans.

The annual Veterans Day Program will be held Nov. 10.

Principal Charles Vilardi said last year at least 10 veterans attended the event and they are hoping for a good turnout again this year.

“Skyline Elementary not only honors our veterans each year, but every year we send care packages to our soldiers,” he said. “It is our way of giving back for all that they do.”

The Veterans Program, which will be held on Nov. 10 at 8:30 a.m. will feature children singing patriotic songs and performing skits, Vilardi dedicating a speech to all the veterans and a presentation of the colors. Vilardi said some of their classes are putting together short skits about Veterans Day for the program.

“We have some local Marines coming out to speak and we have invited several veterans groups in the area,” Vilardi said.

Any veteran or active duty personal who wishes to attend the program can contact Renee Fenske or Mendy Nelson at Skyline Elementary School at 239-772-3223.

Skyline Elementary School is at 620 S.W. 19th St.
