Local authorities are seeking the public’s help in identifying and locating a man who robbed a Cape Coral convenience store late last week.

At about 5:50 a.m. Friday, Cape police responded to a report of a robbery and a theft at the Circle K, located at 3704 Skyline Blvd. A store employee stated the man entered the store and asked if she could break a $100 bill.

When the employee went to the safe to get some $20 bills, the man pulled out a metal baton and demanded all of the cash in the register. She handed the man the cash and he fled with $100, as well as a carton of cigarettes.

He left heading southbound on Skyline, according to the police report.

The man is described as being in his late 40s to early 50s, 6 feet tall and weighing 250 to 270 pounds. He has a scar on his right lip and dark hair.

At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a dark blue and white striped shirt with dark blue and white striped cargo pants, as well as a plain dark blue baseball cap and dark sunglasses, according to the report.
