Business reports it was not paid for $30,000 job
A Cape Coral business is owed more than $30,000 for a fiberglass tooling of a bar that it created, according to a police report.
Police responded Tuesday to an information fraud report at Marine Concepts, at 2443 S.W. Pine Island Road. The chief financial officer reported that the business produced the product, then agreed to sell it to a buyer for $30,400.
In February, Marine Concepts deposited a check that it had received for the bar, and the product was shipped. Days later, the bank notified the business that there were insufficient funds in the buyer’s account to cover the check.
Marine Concepts’ chief financial officer told police that he has had several conversations with the purchaser, and the person has had multiple excuses for why the check was dishonored, but has never made good on the check.
A copy of the check and other related paperwork was placed into evidence.
