LMHS to hold one-day Education Fair
The Lee Memorial Health System will host its annual one-day Education Fair at each of its hospitals this month for staff, volunteers and community members.
Human Resources Administration Business Partner Mike Polito said LMHS has been holding the Education Fair for the past eight years and decided to open it up to the community about three years ago. He said it is a good opportunity for the community to come out and see what the fair is all about and what opportunities are offered in health care.
“It gives the community an opportunity to see what kinds of education programs there are out there,” Polito said.
The Education Fair will take place at Gulf Coast Medical Center Community Room on June 21 from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m., HealthPark Medical Center Atrium on June 22 from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m., Lee Memorial Hospital West Dining Room on June 23 from 7 a .m. until 2 p.m. and Cape Coral Hospital Auxiliary Conference Room on June 24 from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m.
“This event is not restricted to system employees,” Polito said. “The event is free and everyone is welcome to attend, as an education fair is a good place to start if you want to enhance your career or explore new options.”
The schools that will be in attendance include Edison State College, Heritage Institute, High Tech Central and High Tech North, Hodges University, Kaplan University, Keiser University, Nova Southeastern University, Rasmussen College, Southwest Florida College, The College Network, University Alliance, University of Phoenix and Walden University.
Each of the schools will provide an abundance of information for those who attend about the programs they offer.
“It is very worthwhile for the ones that attend,” Polito said, because they are looking for specific information or searching for a good career path.
