Community Self Storage Yard Sale event benefits Cape veterans group
The public is invited to a Community Yard Sale Event will be held Saturday, May 21, at Community Self Storage, 3300 Chiquita Blvd., S., in Cape Coral. The date was chosen because the third Saturday in May is the traditional celebration of Armed Forces Day. The proceeds from the event will benefit the local Invest in Americas Veterans Foundation, based in Cape Coral.
The yard-sale focused event begins at 8:30 a.m. and runs until 2 p.m. In addition to a great many yard sale bargains, the event will feature music, raffles, vendors and lots of food. In addition to hot dogs, sausages, and the like, served up by the Veterans group, there will be food from Quiznos of Cape Coral Parkway, and Geo’s of Pine Island Rd.
The fund-raiser is one in a series of happenings organized by Edna Quintana, manager of Community Self Storage. “We have a large spacious area and we are the most centrally located storage facility in the Cape. It makes the perfect place to hold events that give back to our community, which is a big part of our corporate philosophy,” said Quintana. “I was raised in the military. My dad served in the Army for 27 years. Consequently, vets are near and dear to my heart, so I’m very excited to invite everyone to come enjoy the fun, festivities and yard sale treasures on this special day!”
Sponsors for the activity include The Resort at Marina Village, Arthur Printing, Costco, City of Cape Coral Economic Development Office.
