North Cape road paving project to begin Wednesday

1 min read

The road paving project for deteriorated roads in north Cape Coral will begin Wednesday, March 16. On Feb. 7, City Council approved a $928,000 contract with S.T. Wooten Corporation to pave several miles of roadway north of Kismet Parkway.
The contractor will be mobilizing equipment and materials on Wednesday and beginning the prep work (e.g. scraping, power brooming). Once the prep work is completed, new asphalt will be laid on the streets.
Because many areas will need leveling, the initial asphalt layer will look rough; however, residents should be aware that this will not be the finished product. Additional asphalt will be applied and finished to a final, smooth surface.
S.T. Wooten has 90 days to complete the work, although the company has indicated that it hopes to complete the project well ahead of that timeframe.
