South Pacific USO-Inspired Gala Saturday
The 3rd annual South Pacific USO-Inspired Gala takes place this Saturday, Feb. 26, as the Southwest Florida Museum of History Foundation celebrates history and tradition with this signature USO-style fund-raising event.
Starting at 7 p.m., guests will be treated to an evening of food, dancing and entertainment in the tradition of 1940s USO hangar dances.
The “historic” evening will be held at the Harborside Event Center in the downtown Fort Myers River District, on the bank of the Caloosahatchee. Step back in time to as you swing to the tunes of Lou Colombo and his orchestra playing music styled after the Andrew Sisters and the Big Band era.
Guests can also bid on unique items and packages in the silent and live auctions, see amazing displays of military memorabilia and vehicles and be sure to take home a keepsake of this spectacular event courtesy of the onsite Photo Booth.
Costumes are encouraged for this spectacular evening including military uniforms, 1940s fashions, and World War II era South Pacific styles.
Auction items include unique experiences, getaways and packages. Featured items include a Costa Rica luxury resorts 5-night package with air fare for two, a trip for two to San Francisco with airfare and three nights at the Fairmont plus dining at the iconic Tonga Room and an exciting Fighter-Pilot-for-a-Day adventure.
The South Pacific USO-Inspired Gala benefits the SWFL Museum of History Foundation Inc., which supports education programs and exhibits at the SWFL Museum of History. Just $75 per person will send you back to yesteryear and help the museum continue into the future.
