Resident reports theft of $68,000 worth of jewelry, electronic equipment
Nearly $68,000 worth of jewelry and electronic equipment was reported stolen from a Cape Coral home.
Officers responded to a burglary Thursday at a home located in the 1800 block of Southwest 15th Place. According to a police report, the victim told officers that she came home to find the front door open and the lights on.
The woman stated that she remembered turning the lights off and locking the door when she left that morning. Police found that the bedrooms had been rummaged through and the rear slider door had been pried open.
The missing items were a digital camera, two laptop computers and various pieces of jewelry, including gold bracelets, gold necklaces, gold and diamond rings, gold and diamond earrings, a wedding band and ring, and two Rolexes.
The victim reported that the items were valued at $67,900.
