New traffic pattern set for Santa Barbara Boulevard

1 min read

On Friday, Feb. 25, at approximately 6 a.m., motorists should be on alert for a shift in traffic on Santa Barbara Boulevard between Southeast 12th Terrace and Southwest 19th Street.
The center lanes on Santa Barbara Boulevard will be closed to traffic, allowing one northbound travel lane and two southbound lanes open to motorists traveling in this area. This traffic shift is necessary for crews to complete the median work along this section of Santa Barbara Boulevard.
Motorists are reminded that left turns from side streets onto Santa Barbara Boulevard are prohibited and allowed only at signalized intersections.
Advance warning signs, electronic message boards and barricades will be used to direct motorists traveling through the area. While traveling through the work zone, motorists are urged to use caution, obey the posted speed limit of 35 mph and seek alternate routes whenever possible. Please be advised that unforeseen circumstances such as weather may affect the construction schedule.
