Cape Coral city controller submits her resignation

1 min read

Cape Coral City Controller Linda Senne resigned her post last week.
Her final day in the office will be Dec. 16 with her final day of employment with the city set for Jan. 21, 2011.
Senne notified Assistant City Manager Carl Schwing with a short letter on Dec. 3.
In the letter she wrote: “I would like to express my appreciation to you and the citizens of Cape Coral for the opportunity to work for the city for the past 9-1/2 years.”
Senne served briefly as the interim financial services director following the resignation of Mark Mason early this year.
Senne also recently came under fire from City Manager Gary King while serving as interim director for responding to an internal audit of the city’s financial investment policies.
King said her response was close to “insubordination.”
King then placed Carl Schwing in the post as interim director, while sending Senne back to controller, her previous position while working under Mark Mason.
Neither King, or Schwing, returned calls requesting comment.
