Young male actor needed for ‘The Full Monty’
The Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre is holding auditions for the musical comedy, “The Full Monty,” Saturday, Nov. 13, from 11 a.m. until noon at Broadway Palm. There are no appointments. Auditions are on a first-come, first-served basis.
The audition is for the role of Nathan Lukowski, age 10-14. Strong acting skills are required for this non-singing, non-dancing role. A height of 5-feet-5 or under is preferred. The director will work around school schedules and the role will be double cast. The show rehearses Dec. 13-29. “The Full Monty” plays Dec. 30 through Feb. 12.
Anyone auditioning must be available for selected weekday matinees. Auditionees will read from the script at the audition. Anyone auditioning should bring a head shot and a resume.
“The Full Monty” is a musical comedy that tells the story of six unemployed steelworkers from Buffalo who are low on both cash and job prospects. After seeing their wives’ enthusiasm for a touring company of Chippendales, they decide to present a show of their own. As they prepare for the show, they find strength in their friendship as they learn to work through their fears, self-consciousness and anxieties.
Performances are Tuesday through Sunday evenings with selected matinees. Ticket prices range from $27 to $51 with group discounts available for parties of 20 or more.
