Students reported injured in car/bus accident
Eight children were transported to the hospital Thursday afternoon following a school bus accident.
The crash occurred at about 3:06 p.m. at Pelican Boulevard and Southwest 52nd Street. Connie Barron, spokeswoman for the Cape Coral police, said the bus struck a car in front of it. The students were from Skyline Elementary.
“The bus driver hit brakes to avoid hitting the back of car,” she reported. “Still hit car, but only lightly.”
There were 26 children on the school bus at the time of the accident. The eight students taken to the hospital had minor injuries, according to Barron.
The number of occupants in the car and their condition was unknown.
