A Fort Myers man remains in jail today after authorities charged him in connection with several recent thefts at CVS Pharmacy stores.
Albert Rowser, 45, of 1617 Red Cedar Drive, Apt. 13, is in custody at the Lee County Jail on $4,500. According to jail booking records, Rowser is facing three counts of larceny theft $300 or more but less than $5,000.
On Oct. 10, Cape Coral police responded to a theft from the CVS store at 1611 N.E. Pine Island Road. An employee told police that a man entered the store and took two, 17-inch Craig televisions off a shelf. He then ran from the store with the televisions and fled the scene in a beige or gold Honda.
The stolen televisions are valued at $398 in total.
During their investigation, Cape detectives developed Rowser as a potential suspect. Last week, the CVS employee identified Rowser as the person who stole the two televisions from the store in October, according to officials.
On Monday, Cape detectives met with members of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and learned that the LCSO was investigating similar thefts at two CVS Pharmacy stores in Fort Myers. The same vehicle was used in the crimes and video surveillance from the stores reportedly showed Rowser was involved.
Detectives from both agencies met with Rowser, according to officials. After initially denying any involvement in the Fort Myers thefts, Rowser admitted to the thefts at the CVS stores in Cape Coral and Fort Myers.
Rowser was charged and transported to the jail.
He has a court date set for Dec. 13.
