City shuffles financial services staff
Interim Financial Services Director Linda Senne has been moved back to her previous position of city controller.
City spokeswoman Connie Barron said Senne was moved due to City Manager Gary King’s reorganization efforts of the Financial Services Department and was not demoted.
In an email the Cape Coral Breeze Barron wrote, “Gary will be hiring a new Finance Director this month, and Linda was not a candidate. Her time as interim was going to be short-lived, and there was not going to be a “deputy” position for her. Since she previously served as the City’s “Controller,” Gary allowed her to move back into the “Controller” position.”
Barron added that deputy positions have been, or will be, eliminated.
Senne recently came under fire from King for what he felt were complications relating to the city’s investment policies.
Barron said the “reorganization” had nothing to do previous disciplinary action King took concerning Senne.
The city manager’s office is currently looking for a full time Financial Services director.
Senne took the role of interim director late last year when Mark Mason vacated the position for another financial services director position in Florida.
