Three more vehicles burglarized Wednesday in Cape
Three more vehicles in Cape Coral were reported burglarized Wednesday with various items missing, including a handgun.
According to police reports, the vehicles were parked in the driveways of the homes Tuesday evening. On Wednesday, each owner noticed that their vehicle had been entered and items were missing, including money, a GPS, debt cards and a Taurus .38 special revolver. The firearm was loaded when it was taken.
Two vehicles were located in the 3000 block of Southwest 14th Court and one was parked at a home in the 1400 block of Southwest 31st Terrace.
One owner believed he had locked the vehicle the night before and another person was unsure if she had locked her vehicle, the report states.
The third owner told police that she believed the vehicle had been entered through a front passenger door due to the automatic lock being broke. She believed that she had forgot to manually lock the door Tuesday evening.
The items reported stolen from one vehicle were the revolver, worth about $300, and $10 in miscellaneous coins. Another owner reported that a Garmin GPS, worth an estimated $200, was missing from her vehicle, and the third person said her wallet had been removed from the vehicle.
According to the reports, the woman’s wallet contained a Florida driver’s license, a Social Security card, two Wachovia debt cards and approximately $200 in currency.
In the last week, multiple vehicles have been reported burglarized throughout the Cape. The missing items have included currency, iPods, CD players, GPS
units, DVDs and DVD players, wallets and debit cards, a radar detector and
chargers, among other items, according to Cape police reports.
The owners told officers that the vehicles were unlocked, could have been unlocked or believed that they had been locked but were not sure.
Anyone with information on any of the incidents is asked to call the Cape Coral Police Department at 574-3223 or Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at (800) 780-TIPS (8477).
