Santa Barbara Boulevard road widening project
On Wednesday, Sept. 29, motorists can expect intermittent lane closures of the southbound lane along Santa Barbara Boulevard just south of Nicholas Parkway. This lane closure is necessary for crews to perform signalization work at the intersection of Santa Barbara Boulevard and Nicholas Parkway. Northbound travel lanes on Santa Barbara Boulevard will remain open during this work.
Detour: Southbound motorists wanting to access Santa Barbara Boulevard just south of Nicholas Parkway will travel west on Nicholas Parkway, south on Southwest Santa Barbara Place, east on Southwest 13th Terrace to Santa Barbara Boulevard.
Advance warning signs, electronic message boards and barricades will be used to assist motorists traveling through the area. Motorists are urged to use caution, obey the posted speed limit of 35 mph, and seek alternate routes while traveling through the work zone. Please be advised that unforeseen circumstances such as weather may affect the work schedule.
