1 min read

Two ATVs were reported stolen Wednesday from the backyard of a Cape Coral home, according to a police report.
The resident of a home, located in the 900 block of Northeast 36th Terrace, contacted the police and reported someone entered his fenced backyard and removed the ATVs sometime during the night. The ATVs are valued at about $5,700, the report states.
The man told police that the ATVs, a 2004 Kawasaki 700 Carbon fiber and a 2004 green Honda Rancher, belong to his friend. The friend had been keeping the ATVs at the home since Sept. 7. The man last saw the ATVs when he let his dog out at about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.
According to the report, when the man woke up at about 7:30 a.m., the side fence gate to the backyard was open and the ATVs were missing. The man also said he forgot to chain lock the gate on Wednesday, as he usually does.
Police observed that the gate entrance is concealed by brush.
