Boat reported stolen

1 min read

A twin-engine vessel worth nearly $300,000 has been reported stolen from a boat lift at a southwest Cape Coral home.
The owner contacted police on Friday and reported that his red and white, 2006, 34-foot Pursuit Drummond Island Runner was missing from the lift at his home, located in the 5500 block of Southwest 12th Place. The man said he stays in the Cape part-time and that he last saw the boat in April.
According to a police report, the owner learned that the boat was missing from a neighbor. The neighbor reported that she last saw it on Sept. 14, but did not call the owners because she thought they had done something with it.
The owner told police that he did not have his boat moved nor did he give anyone permission to take it. The boat is worth an estimated $240,000.
Stolen along with the boat were two Yahama outboard motors, each worth about $25,000, and a chart plotter and radio combo, valued at $7,500.
Anyone with information can contact the Cape Coral Police Department at 574-3223 or Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at (800) 780-TIPS (8477).
