Alcohol reported stolen by resident
A pack of beer and a bottle of liquor were reportedly removed Wednesday from the lanai of a Cape Coral residence while the resident was home.
Police responded to a home in the 700 block of Southwest Ninth Avenue at about 6:27 p.m., according to a report. The victim stated that someone had accessed her lanai through a screen door and then entered a refrigerator on the lanai. An 18-pack of Bug Light cans and a bottle of vodka were missing.
The total value of the missing alcohol is estimated at $41.
The woman told police that she was in her bedroom when she saw the light from the refrigerator turn on and off, and she heard some bottles clanging. She peeked out through the lanai door blinds and saw a person on the lanai.
According to the report, the woman was unable to see the face or determine the age of the person. The person ran, exiting the lanai. The woman observed the person ran south on Southwest Ninth Avenue, then east onto Southwest Seventh Street.
The person was reportedly dressed in black clothing and “ran very fast.”
