Kitchen fire causes $80,000 in damage
A kitchen fire on Friday morning at a residence at 3006 N.E. 1st Avenue caused $80,000 and forced the residents to find other living arrangements.
Cape Fire responded to the 911 call of a home on fire atAt 10:37 a.m. By 10:54 a.m., the fire was extinguished, officials said.
No one was in the home at the time.
Fire investigators determined that the point of origin was the stovetop and left counter area of the kitchen. Cape Coral building inspectors red-tagged the structure, and LCEC disconnected the power supply. Red Cross responded to assist the family.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office, officials said Saturday.
