Back to School Rush set for Saturday
Event to include school physicals, student enrollment, Tdap vaccines, opportunity to get immunization records & more

The School District of Lee County is offering a one stop shop for new students Saturday to complete the registration process.
Physical and Mental Health Services Assistant Director Wally Colon said the Back to School Rush event began a few years ago in response to the need to support families new to the district who were unable to complete their child’s school registration due to missing required documentation, particularly with the school entry physical.
“By bringing families to a single location, we are able to offer school entry physicals and Tdap vaccines – free of charge – to help ensure students are ready for the first day of school,” Colon said.
Back to School Rush will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at the Golisano Pediatric Clinic at Franklin Park Elementary School, 2330 Henderson Ave. Suite, 200, Fort Myers.
The event will include school physicals, student enrollment, Tdap vaccines and ability to get immunization records. The Florida Department of Health will provide the Tdap vaccine for incoming seventh graders, as well as help with the transfer of out-of-state student immunization records.
To complete school registration, families must provide copies of a parent/guardian photo ID; student birth certificate, proof of address, school entry physical and complete immunization record, Colon said.
