Lee County Department of Community Development eConnect permitting portal to be temporarily offline for upgrades

2 min read

The eConnect permit portal for Lee County Department of Community Development (DCD), Department of Transportation (DOT), Natural Resources, and the Lee Utilities Department (LCU), will be offline from 5 p.m. Friday, May 16, until 7 a.m. Monday, May 19, for technical upgrades.

The services impacted during the outage period will include filing new submittals, downloading permits and plans, uploading documents and plans, making payments, viewing record details and status, and scheduling inspections.

During the outage period, customers can use the phone line to schedule inspections and make payments. The VoicePermits Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system will be available throughout the weekend update. The IVR phone number is 239-533-8997.

The upgraded permit portal will enhance business operations to allow for an easier user experience that will streamline the plan-review process. It will also improve transparency and engagement through real-time updates and is expected to accelerate the permit-approval process. Additionally, users may notice a refreshed look to the portal.

The current portal’s web address (https://aca.leegov.com) will remain the same. Access the portal from the departmental landing page, www.leegov.com/dcd.

To ensure a smooth transition, the county is offering virtual training sessions. Customers can join on Teams on one of two dates:

• Monday, May 12, from 8 to 9:30 a.m.

• Thursday, May 15, from 2:30 to 4 p.m.

The training links are posted at DCD’s home page, www.leegov.com/dcd. No advanced signup or registration is necessary; training is free.

Contractors, engineers, architects and owner-builders who do work in or live in unincorporated Lee County are encouraged to join the training. Customers who miss the training will be able to watch a training video that will be posted online; additional training sessions may be planned as needed.

If the dates for the technological upgrade are delayed, the county will reschedule it for the last weekend of May, with the refreshed portal launching June 2.
