Pole painting project under way on the islands
The Greater Pine Island Chamber of Commerce has launched a committee to work alongside LCEC to get approval for artists or interested parties who would like to leave their mark on Pine Island by painting a LCEC utility pole.
The community has embraced this project with approximately 90 poles already approved with 30 completed. The chamber launched the project to the public on April 1.
LCEC has a crew of six employees that will be painting two poles in St. James City at the end of May. The chamber is excited to have LCEC’s participation and the plan is to be able to show LCEC support by letting the locals know and having other artists join in with the painting of poles.
