Creative Coast Preschool owner director and VPK teacher Maria Ramirez welcomed the kids of Creative Coast back Monday, Oct. 31, after Hurricane Ian closed the facility down until receiving approval to re-open.

“We were just excited and ecstatic to have them back and they were so happy to be back,” Ramirez said.

Commonly referring to Creative Coast as their school, the children told Ramirez they were happy to be there once again. Working on a 30-day waiver, Ramirez said there was some damage done to the playground and fence.

“They installed a fencepost last week. That was the only thing that was keeping us from opening up. They had to come back and reinforce it, but it was good enough for us to come in,” Ramirez said.

Creative Coast is located at 10731 Stringfellow Road, Bokeelia. For additional information about the preschool, call 239-283-3423.
