Matlacha man sentenced to 25 years in child pornography case
A Matlacha man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for 20 counts of possession of child pornography.
Marshall Allen Faulkner’s prison term will be followed by 25 years of sex offender probation and he will be designated a sexual offender.
The jury returned the guilty verdict in October following a trial in Lee County.
The crime was uncovered in August 2020 when the Cape Coral Police Department learned of possible child pornography being in Faulkner’s home.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office was contacted to investigate as the address fell within its jurisdiction.
A search warrant was executed at Faulkner’s home. A computer, thumb drive and SD card, were seized by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and their digital forensic specialist found numerous graphic sexual images of young children contained on the devices.
As part of his sentence, Faulkner, now 46, must also pay more than $3,000 in fines to the Rape Crisis Fund and more than $3,000 in fines to Crimes Against Minors, plus additional court costs.
The State Attorney’s Office Special Victims Unit handled the case. Assistant State Attorney Heather Fly led the prosecution.
