A Matlacha man has been found guilty of possession of child pornography.

Marshall Allen Faulkner, 46, was found guilty as charged of 20 counts of possession of child pornography Thursday following a three-day trial.

“In August 2020, the Cape Coral Police Department learned of possible child pornography being in the home of the defendant in Matlacha,” a release from the State Attorney’s Office announcing the jury verdict states. “The Lee County Sheriff’s Office was contacted to investigate due to it being their jurisdiction. Detectives secured a computer, that had belonged to the defendant, which contained illegal images of children.”

A search warrant was executed at Faulkner’s home and a computer, thumb drive, and SD card, were seized by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

“A Lee County Sheriff’s Office Digital Forensic Specialist found numerous graphic sexual images of young children contained on the devices,” the release states.

Faulkner was then arrested and the case was turned over to the State Attorney’s Office Special Victim’s Unit.

Assistant State Attorney Heather Fly filed charges and prosecuted the case. Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 22.
