Island fire crews respond to RV fire
The RV damaged by fire on Pompano Avenue in Cape Coral.

Recently, fire crews from the Matlacha/Pine Island Fire Control District were dispatched to a structure fire off Pompano Avenue in Cape Coral. According to Fire Chief Ben Mickuleit, this particular fire was on the same street as the department’s new Station 4 and that proximity made such a difference. That quick response contained the fire to the RV and stopped any spread to the close surrounding structures.
There were no injuries and damage was mostly contained to the RV.
