Rock Fest for Vets at Ragged Ass this weekend

2 min read

This weekend, Nov. 9-10, the Ragged Ass Saloon will hold a Rock Fest for Vets. This event will benefit Wounded Warrior Project.

“The two-day event begins at 11 a.m. Saturday with the National Anthem and American Legion Post #136 Color Guard performing a 21-gun salute,” organizer Heather Swartz said. “We’re very excited about the entertainment this year, remember we did Guitars for Veterans last year. This year we have local entertainment from Hillbilly Ryezin, Brother Love, Siren Says and Backlash and we also have two nationally renowned tribute bands.”

Shot Down in Flames is a tribute AC/DC band based out of Jacksonville, Florida, and Atlanta, Georgia.

“They have the look and feel of AC/DC and a Shot Down In Flames show is the next best thing to seeing AC/DC live,” Swartz said.

Nightrain International is a Guns N Roses tribute band. They will arrive in St. James City from performances in Illinois with authentic costuming, backdrop, side banners, the piano for “November Rain,” Marshall stacks and the look and sound of Guns N Roses!

“Nightrain will be covering all of the favorite Guns N Roses hits from musical accuracy, to the snake dance and the cool swaying of Axl Rose, to the blistering guitar solos of Slash,” Swartz said.

Daily admission is $15 per person. VIP passes are $45 and include 2-day admission, event T-shirt and hat. Tickets are available at Ragged Ass Saloon and Eventbrite.

There is an after-party on Saturday and Sunday at Froggy’s starting at 6 p.m.

The Wounded Warrior Project serves veterans and service members who’ve incurred a physical or mental injury, illness or wound while serving in the military on or after Sept. 11, 2001.
